I want to play some more piano music but I have trouble finding places to find it. Can anyone recommend piano music and places to find more?

How about Ludovico Einaudi? Not sure if there is any sheet music for it though.

What kind of a music scene does Downtown Detroit have at nighttime?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

The next time I visit Downtown Detroit, I would like to check out the music scene. What kind of a music scene does Downtown Detroit have and where are the best places to see good music. I am interested in seeing contemporary new age music, classical music, and jazz music. Also, are the places to see good music safe to travel to at nighttime?

There are good hip-hop shows & I’ve been to a rave or 2. I wouldn’t say it’s necessarilly super safe but I do fine there everytime I go. There is a huge free event that lasts for an entire weekend. It’s called D.E.M.F. (Detroit Electronic Music Festival). It’s has a variety of artists (not only electronica) & is fun & safe. You should Google it. It has to be coming up soon.

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

My friends and I are trying to determine the hottest music of all time. MTV and VH1 can say what they want, but they don’t show all the music videos. We’re trying to figure out the hottest out of every music video ever made.

Chris Issac’s wicked lies or D’angelo -untitled

I am just learning piano sheet music. How do the chords on top of the sheet music help?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

I am just playing based on the notes. But, there are little square boxes with chords on top of the sheet music. How can I utilize these to make my playing easier?

The chord symbols above the notation is a merely a reference point for what chord the left hand is playing based on the bass cleft. You will notice that the chords written above a certain measure will correspond with the same or similar notes in the left hand. It depends on the voicing. These chord symbols help a lot with people wanting to learn how to play easily considering its quicker to read rather than the bass cleft.

Here’s an example: Lets say there is a measure with the symbol C7 over it. The notes you should play in unison with your left hand are C-E-G-Bb. The C-E-G is a C major chord and you add the seventh by using a Bb. There is a whole unique style of playing this way. I suggest learning from a book called Piano In A Flash by Scot Houston. Google the guy.

Download music?

Posted on September 30th, 2009 by admin

Does anyone know any good websites where i can download music for free without a subscription, without giving away personal information, and without having to give my credit card number? i would also like the website to have a large library of music.

I know so many people will suggest this to you, maybe I’ll be the first, but, maybe Limewire.
