Where on the internet can I find the piano music for this song?

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by admin

I’m looking for the piano music for Lou Reed’s perfect day. I don’t mean the sheet music that you can buy online I’m talking about something that you would find on a guitar tab website or something like that.

Try Youtube…there are a lot of song clips on there!

What is the name of the piano music used in the PBS documentary "On a Wind and a Prayer"?

Posted on February 21st, 2010 by admin

I was watching this documentary today and I recognized the piano music from somewhere else – in face, I feel like it might be a commonly used piece. It sounded like a piano concerto but I cannot place it.

I would suggest you look for it on You Tube:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=on+a+wind+and+a+prayer&aq=f

Are you sure you don’t mean "On a Win(g) and a Prayer"?

What type of digital recorder should I use for recording live piano music?

Posted on February 18th, 2010 by admin

I would like to record live music played on the grand piano. I need to know what type of equipment I need, hardware AND software. Not too expensive, less than $500.
I would like a portable system.

There are lots of options. How portable do you want it? Are you adding anything else or just piano? For starters, you could get what is called a field recorder. M-Audio makes one that’s in your price range. It is a self contained unit, about the size of a paperback book. It has a sterio mic built right into the top of it, records on to smart media cards, and can export the recording as an mp3 ready to burn on to a cd. Or you could get a smaller, self contained digital recorder for the $300- 400 range, add a $100 conderser mic (Behringer B-1, Shure PG81, Studio Projects makes a few in that range, MXL, ect.) and you’re in business. Other options are going computer based, which someone else covered. I’m not going in to that because I’m guessing your computer probably isn’t right next to your grand piano, so it could be a little more work to get that set up. I’m keeping it more portable. Check out Sweetwater.com or Musiciansfriend.com

What things happen in the brain the day someone masters reading music & piano that will happen everyday?

Posted on February 16th, 2010 by admin

What things happen in the brain the day someone masters reading music & piano that will happen everyday and every time they sit at the piano and prepare to read music and play the piano that will allow them to play song after song after song with no mistakes.

You don’t all of the sudden master anything, it takes thousands of hours…and it’s a very slow process.

What are some amazing/good modern piano music?

Posted on February 4th, 2010 by admin

I am a music fanatic and I absolutely love modern piano music. Sadly, I never have time to find some of these songs and none of my friends are any help. They enjoy more of the pop/ rock type of music. Anyway, if you can leave a few suggestion (name of song along with composer/artist) that would be very helpful!! Thank you so much!!

Five For Fighting is an awesome piano artist! Check out some of his tunes:
