This is what John Coltrane’s landmark tune and solo look like when they come to life on paper.

If you try to play along, you may notice that the transcription for the head is transposed for C and the solo’s in Bb. Weird, I know, but the transcription book that I based this animation on was in concert.

The band Deerhoof has leaked a song from their upcoming album Offend Maggie in the form of sheet music, asking their fans to tell them how it should sound. WNYC Culture has stepped up to their challenge, creating an interpretation of the song relying solely on the sight-reading abilities of Deerhoof fans at their recent Prospect Park performance. If you like playing piano and like the music from the sims, then you might know that there is sheet music for the build themes and one buy theme from the sims (1), but have you ever seen sheet music, or anyone playing music from the sims 2?
Well, I haven’t, so I clinked this song out. It’s very easy, few chords, and few keys to play at. Just one key is a black one.
However, This is one of the three themes when creating a sim in the original Sims 2.

I am not really playing this live – I am playing it, but I’ve edited it, and added more instruments and effects. It sounds better that way.

I’m really really really sorry for the errors that are in this arrangement I made… I worked very hard to put this song in a piano version but some of the chords were too “strange” to sound good so I changed them :/
The other errors are because I was tired ^^ I don’t have any good excuse for that

If you use it, subscribing would be nice, but is not necessary Just so you know, I made some mistakes when I played it in the video, and I’ve corrected those in the sheet music, so the sheet music might not sound exactly the same as my video.

My piano cover played by ear of “By Your Side” by Tenth Avenue North…great song, just discovered it recently and fell in love with it. The Lord has told us He will always be with us.. what an awesome thing to remember, and sometimes we just need to be reminded of that fact.
