Choosing A Pet Parrot
Choosing a parrot for a pet should be something that is done with a lot of thought and not an impulse purchase when you see a bunch of birds for sale. These birds can be great pets but they do have different care needs than cats and dogs. One thing you must be aware of is that birds do need to be fed the proper food and be a part of the family. The first thing you should do is decide on the type of bird that would be perfect for you. A small bird like a parakeet or budgie is good if you don’t have a lot of time to devote or a big space for his cage. If time and space are no issue, then a big bird such as a cockatoo, Macaw or African Grey could suit you just fine. Either way, you must make sure you provide the proper parrot diet, housing and care for a healthy long lived bird.
